v v s laxman
india won the first test match against australia with beautiful knock by v v s laxman who
remained not out
the joke on the net now says
if v v s laxman retires from cricket australia may even declare a national holiday
so much said for what he had done
L O L
Not surprisingly, his unbeaten 73 at the PCA Stadium did evoke comparisons with the epic 281 with which he dragged India out of a deep mire nine years ago at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata against the same opposition. But till the final two leg-byes with which India posted their win, there was more drama and certainly many more emotions this time around in Mohali.

The oil spill from Panamanian ship MSC Chitra, which ran aground off Mumbai harbour after Saturday’s collision with another vessel, has stopped, the Coast Guard said today.
“The leakage of oil from the ship has stopped on its own,” S.P.S. Basra, IG Coast Guard (Western Region) told PTI.
“It is observed that in the last six hours, the fuel from the ship tank has stopped coming out. So, it is a relief kind of a thing,” Mr. Basra said.
Oil was leaking from two of the 12 tanks of the vessel which had got damaged due to the collision. The two tanks could together hold 879 tonnes of oil, sources in the Coast Guard said.
The MSC Chitra and Khalijia had collided on Saturday at the mouth of the Mumbai Harbour. The Khalijia had been at the harbour for over a fortnight for repair work when the collision took place.

emergency contact info
Are you ready for an emergency?
Apparently there is a standard procedure all paramedics follow at the scene of an accident, when they come across your cell phone.
We all carry our mobile phones with names & numbers stored in its memory but nobody, other than ourselves, knows which of these numbers/names belong to our closest family or friends.
If we were to be involved in an accident or were taken ill o need emergency help, the people attending us would have access to our mobile phone but wouldn’t know who to call !
Yes, there are many and sometime hundreds of numbers stored on cell phones – but which one is the best proper contact person in case of an emergency? Hence this ‘ICE’ (In Case of Emergency) Campaign.
The concept of ‘ICE’ is catching on quickly. It is a method of contact during emergency situations.

The concept of ‘ICE’ is catching on quickly. It is a method of contact during emergency situations.
As cell(mobile) phones are carried by the majority of the population now, all you need to do is store the number of a contact person or persons who should be contacted during emergency under the name ‘ICE’ ( In Case Of Emergency).
The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when he went to the scenes of accidents, there were always mobile phones with patients, but they didn’t know which number to call. He therefore thought that it would be a good idea if there was a nationally recognized name for this purpose. So, in any emergency situation, the Emergency Service Personnel and Hospital Staff would be able to quickly find and contact the right person, if you are not able to say or show, by simply dialing the number you have stored as ‘ICE.’
FOR MORE THAN ONE CONTACT name simply enter ICE1,ICE2 and ICE3 etc. A great idea I also trust can and will make a difference!
Let’s spread the concept of ICE by storing an ICE number in our Mobile phones today!
Please forward this to pals and friends and family. Before too many ‘forwards’, everybody will know about this. This could save a life, yours or someone, and also put a loved one’s mind at rest.
Your ICE will speak for you when you are not able to !!!

KRAFT BUYS CADBURYS
LONDON/CHICAGO - Kraft Foods sealed a friendly deal to buy British candy maker Cadbury for about $19.6 billion (11.9 billion pounds) after frantic last-minute talks broke an impasse over price.
Kraft Chief Executive Officer Irene Rosenfeld had to inject more cash into her bid and drop the number of new shares in the offer to win over Cadbury Chairman Roger Carr and mollify billionaire investor Warren Buffett, the U.S. food company's top shareholder.
The deal would create the world's biggest confectioner, and analysts see little likelihood of a counterbid.
The cash-and-stock agreement, which dealmakers said was struck after all-night negotiations at the London headquarters of investment bank Lazard, values each Cadbury share at 840 pence. Shareholders are also set to get a 10p special dividend, bringing it to a total of 850p.

SOLAR ECLIPSE IN INDIA 2010
solar eclipse to be visible between 11 am and 3 pm in india on 15january2010
A solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the Sun and the Earth so that the Sun is fully or partially covered. This can only happen during a new moon, when the Sun and Moon are in conjunction as seen from the Earth. At least two and up to five solar eclipses can occur each year on Earth, with between zero and two of them being total eclipses.[1][2] Total solar eclipses are nevertheless rare at any location because during each eclipse totality exists only along a narrow corridor in the relatively tiny area of the Moon's umbra. The path of annularity at this eclipse will start in Africa. After crossing most of the Indian Ocean, it will hit the Maldive Islands. The center of the path goes a bit off the southern tip of India, but not by much. The path of annularity then crosses northern Sri Lanka, where I would love to go, but it may be too close to the end of their military difficulties for me to travel there yet.
Where to go for an eclipse is in part a scientific and in part a cloud-cover-statistics decision, but political situations do play a part. Annularity will cross part of Myanmar, which I am not willing to visit now, though I do know at least one person who is going there. The path continues into China, where at least one of my colleague’s from last summer’s total eclipse, Yihua Yan from the Beijing Solar Observatory, will watch from Yunnan.
Partial phases will be visible for hundreds of miles to either side of the band of annularity
